Arriving and getting around

Almost all visitors fly into Entebbe International Airport, around 40 km from central Kampala — allow 60–90 minutes by road, more on match days. Pre-booked transfers and ride-hailing apps are the simplest options; boda-boda motorbikes are fast but best avoided with luggage.

Base yourself in Kololo, Nakasero, Naguru, Kireka, Banda, Mutungo, and Bweyogerere for restaurants and easy stadium access, or stay lakeside in Entebbe if you have early safari flights. Book well ahead: AFCON 2027 Kampala rooms will be the tightest of the tournament.

Things to do in Uganda during AFCON
