Arriving the day before your first match leaves you with jet lag and zero tolerance for a delay. Here is what each pre-tournament window actually buys you.

How many days before?
3 days before
City plus one experience
Enough to beat jet lag and see one thing properly. Nairobi National Park, Jinja and the Nile, or Entebbe and Lake Victoria. Not enough for a real safari.
5 days before
A short, honest safari
Masai Mara by scheduled flight, or Murchison Falls overland. One park, done well, with a buffer day before your first match.
7 days before
A meaningful safari
Two parks, or one park plus gorilla trekking. This is where the trip stops feeling like an add-on to the football.
10+ days before
A full East African route
Kenya into Uganda, plains game into forest primates, arriving in your host city rested with the tournament still ahead of you.
The rule we apply for every client: a pre-AFCON safari never ends on the same day as a match. One buffer day in your host city protects the most expensive part of the trip. The ticket you flew across the world to use.
Operational note: We operate Uganda safari routes and coordinate cross-border movements across East Africa. The recommendations given are based on actual routing considerations, not theoretical map distances.
