OPEN PARK DAYS IN UGANDA

Open Park day

The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is holding Open Park Days from September 25th to 27th, 2025, offering free access to several savanna national parks for Ugandan citizens and foreign residents to boost domestic tourism and conservation. This initiative aims to encourage locals to connect with Uganda's natural heritage by providing complimentary entry and game drives in parks like Murchison Falls National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Mburo National Park, and Kidepo Valley National Park, along with Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve. 

What to Expect:

  • Free Entry:Entrance to the participating parks is free for Ugandan citizens and foreign residents. 

  • Complimentary Game Drives:Free guided game drives are provided, allowing visitors a closer experience with wildlife. 

  • Vehicle Access:Free entry is also extended to vehicles for visitors during the Open Park Days. 

  • Conservation Focus:The initiative aims to increase awareness about conservation and foster a sense of ownership for Uganda's natural resources among its citizens.

The Open Park Days include free access to these savanna parks and reserves: 

  • Murchison Falls National Park

  • Queen Elizabeth National Park

  • Lake Mburo National Park

  • Kidepo Valley National Park

  • Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve

How to Participate:
