8 Days Uganda Primate Safari
Overview
This safari combines Uganda’s top primate experiences with classic wildlife. You visit Lake Mburo, Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth, and Kibale. Highlights include gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, boat safaris, and guided game drives.
Day 1. Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park
You are picked up from Entebbe International Airport or your hotel. Drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Lunch on arrival. Evening to night game drive with a ranger to spot nocturnal wildlife. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2. Lake Mburo to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Morning nature walk or horseback riding inside the park. You see zebras, impalas, elands, and buffaloes. After the activity, drive south to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with a lunch stop in Kabale. Dinner and overnight near the park.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Visit
Early breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters. Briefing and gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest. You spend one hour with a mountain gorilla family. Afternoon Batwa community encounter. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Drive north to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Lunch at the lodge. Afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel with views of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and birds. Evening game drive. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5. Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. You look for lions, elephants, buffalo, and antelopes. Optional experiential lion and leopard tracking at an extra cost. Afternoon at leisure. Evening crater lake exploration in the explosion crater area. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth to Kibale Forest
After breakfast, drive to Kibale Forest National Park. Lunch at the lodge. Afternoon Bigodi wetland swamp walk and community visit. Dinner and overnight.
Day 7. Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale
Morning chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest. You spend one hour with a habituated group. Afternoon at leisure at the lodge. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8. Kibale to Entebbe
Breakfast and drive back to Entebbe. Lunch en route. Drop off at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel.
