6 Days Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari
This safari focuses on Uganda’s top primate experiences. You track chimpanzees in Kibale Forest and mountain gorillas in Bwindi. The route also includes classic savannah wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
TRAVEL ITINERARY
Day 1. Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park
You are picked up from Entebbe International Airport or your hotel. Drive west to Kibale Forest with a lunch stop in Fort Portal. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight near the park.
Day 2. Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth
Morning chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest. You spend one hour with a habituated group. Afternoon Bigodi swamp walk and community visit. Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3. Queen Elizabeth National Park
Early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. You look for elephants, buffalo, lions, and antelope species. Afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel with views of hippos, crocodiles, and birds. Dinner and overnight.
Optional experiential lion and leopard tracking at an extra cost.
Day 4. Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi via Ishasha
Drive south through the Ishasha sector in search of tree-climbing lions. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Afternoon Batwa community experience. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5. Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Early breakfast and briefing at the park headquarters. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest. You spend one hour with a mountain gorilla family. After lunch, drive to Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6. Lake Bunyonyi to Entebbe
Morning breakfast followed by a return drive to Entebbe. Lunch stop en route. Drop off at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel.
