You will receive an overview of the journey before embarking on an 8 to 10-hour drive, which includes a lunch stop in Mbarara City. There will also be a photo opportunity at the Equator line in Kayabwe. Finally, you’ll arrive at the park for dinner and an overnight stay.

  • Start your day with an early breakfast. To protect yourself from the forest and keep warm, dress in a long-sleeved shirt, long jeans or khaki trousers, waterproof boots, a cap, and a sweater. Don’t forget to pack snacks and water for the trek, which lasts four or more hours. Head to the park headquarters for a briefing on park rules.

Afterward, you’ll be assigned a park ranger and a Gorilla family to track. As you trek through the stunning landscape, enjoy the unique atmosphere of the impenetrable forest. Look out for various bird species like the handsome francolin, purple sunbird, and Rwenzori turaco, adding to the vibrant experience. Once your trek is complete, return to your accommodation for lunch. After lunch, visit the Batwa pygmies, the original inhabitants of the forest. Learn about their ancient ways and challenges after being forced out of their homes. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at your accommodation.
