After a quick meet-and-greet, you’ll be transferred to your stylish boutique hotel located near the shores of Lake Victoria. The rest of the day is yours to unwind and adjust to the rhythm of the Pearl of Africa. You may enjoy a sunset cocktail, explore the botanical gardens, or simply relax in the comfort of your luxury accommodation. In the evening, you’ll be briefed about the upcoming 10-day adventure by your guide over a delicious Ugandan-fusion dinner.
Day 2: Fly to Murchison Falls National Park – Sunset Game Drive
After an early breakfast, you’ll head to Entebbe’s domestic terminal for a charter flight to Murchison Falls National Park, arriving at Pakuba or Bugungu Airstrip. On arrival, a private guide will pick you up in a luxury safari vehicle and begin your journey with a scenic drive through the savanna. After checking in at your riverside lodge, you’ll have time for lunch and rest before setting out for your first game drive in the park’s northern sector. Expect sightings of giraffes, oribis, buffalo, hartebeests, and perhaps even lions or leopards. End the day with sundowners overlooking the Nile River as hippos grunt in the background.
Day 3: Murchison Falls – Nile Boat Safari & Top of the Falls Hike
Today begins with a sunrise game drive through the park’s scenic delta, famous for its abundance of big game and birdlife. After returning for breakfast, you’ll embark on a spectacular boat safari on the Victoria Nile, cruising toward the thunderous Murchison Falls. Along the riverbanks, you’ll spot hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and countless waterbirds. After return to your lodge for an elegant dinner under the stars.
Day 4: Fly to Kibale Forest – Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary Walk
After a relaxed breakfast, take a private charter flight to Kasese Airstrip, followed by a scenic drive through the Fort Portal region to Kibale Forest National Park. Upon arrival, check into your forest lodge nestled on the edge of the jungle and enjoy lunch with views of crater lakes. In the afternoon, take a guided nature walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a rich ecosystem home to red colobus monkeys, hornbills, and papyrus gonoleks. The wetland is also managed by the local community, offering a great chance to learn about rural life and conservation. Return to your lodge for a relaxing evening around the fireplace.
Day 5: Kibale Forest – Chimpanzee Tracking Experience
Wake early and head to the Kibale visitor center for a chimpanzee trekking briefing before venturing into the lush rainforest. The trek may take 1 to 3 hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzee family, but the reward is priceless: an hour with a habituated troop of wild chimpanzees, watching them forage, play, and communicate. After the encounter, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, you can visit a nearby vanilla farm or crater lake, or simply relax in your suite overlooking the jungle canopy. End the day with a private dinner on your verandah, serenaded by forest sounds.
Day 6: Fly to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Kazinga Channel Cruise
After breakfast, depart Kibale and drive to the airstrip for a short flight into Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most diverse wildlife havens. You’ll check into a luxury lodge in the Mweya Peninsula or Kyambura Gorge area, where hippos graze just beyond your deck. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, a highlight of this park, with massive pods of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and over 600 bird species along the water’s edge. After the cruise, your guide will take you on a sunset drive back to camp, where a gourmet meal awaits.
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Experiential Big Cats Game Drive
Today is dedicated to a special experiential game drive focused on tracking big cats, specifically lions and leopards, in Queen Elizabeth National Park. After an early breakfast, you’ll meet with a professional ranger guide and Uganda Wildlife Authority researcher, who will accompany you on a behind-the-scenes predator tracking experience. Using radio telemetry equipment, you’ll follow the movement of collared lions and leopards through the open plains, acacia woodlands, and dense thickets of the park. This unique activity offers rare insight into the habits, territories, and conservation status of these apex predators.
As you move through the Kasenyi Plains and Mweya Peninsula, you’ll likely encounter other wildlife such as elephants, hyenas, Uganda kob, and warthogs. Unlike regular game drives, this experiential safari allows you to contribute to real-time monitoring and research efforts while learning about the daily lives of these elusive animals. After a rewarding morning of tracking, enjoy a bush breakfast or packed picnic with views of the Rwenzori Mountains in the background.
In the afternoon, you can opt for a guided nature walk, relax by the lodge’s infinity pool, or enjoy a photography session from your private deck overlooking the savannah. In the evening, return to the lodge for a fireside dinner under a sky full of stars, reflecting on the thrilling predator encounters of the day.
Day 8: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Cultural Visit
After breakfast, you’ll take a short flight to Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip, followed by a scenic drive to your exclusive Bwindi lodge, perched at the edge of the rainforest. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of terraced hills and misty valleys. After checking in and relaxing with a warm lunch, visit a nearby community to meet the Batwa pygmies, the forest’s original inhabitants. Learn about their ancient way of life, traditional songs, and survival techniques. Return to your lodge in the late afternoon to prepare for the following day’s gorilla trekking adventure.
Day 9: Bwindi – Gorilla Trekking Safari
This is the day you’ve been waiting for, your unforgettable gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. After an early breakfast and briefing at the ranger station, you’ll begin your trek through dense jungle terrain. The hike can take between 2–6 hours depending on the gorillas’ movements, but every step is worth it when you finally meet a family of endangered mountain gorillas. You’ll spend one magical hour in their presence, observing their gestures, bonding, and feeding behaviors. After returning to the lodge, enjoy a celebratory drink, massage, or a soak in your deep tub overlooking the forest.
Day 10: Return to Entebbe – Departure
After a final breakfast in the forest, you’ll be transferred to the local airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe, arriving in time for your onward international flight or optional extension (e.g. Jinja or Ssese Islands). If time allows, enjoy a farewell lunch near Lake Victoria before saying goodbye to Uganda.
